The first step in cleaning laptop screen is to find a cleaning solution to use. The best thing to use when cleaning computer screen is plain distilled water.

It is not recommended to use any cleaner with strong solvents for cleaning LCD screens, strong solvents include: alcohol and ammonia.Do not spray the bottle directly onto the screen, this could cause damage to the laptop. Instead, spray the mist onto cotton cloth.

Make your own Laptop Screen cleaning kit with simple household ingredients:3M’s Antistatic Cleaning Solution contains this same mix, plus Ethylene Glycol.

* Do not drink Isopropyl alcohol.

* Isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol)

* Distilled water

* A soft cotton cloth

If you don’t want to go through the trouble of making your own laptop screen cleaning solution, here are some alternative commercial laptop screen cleaners.

LCD Screen Cleaning Tips

Don’t spray any cleaning solution, directly onto the screen but rather dampen your large cleaning cloth with your solution and apply very gentle pressure, cleaning the display in a circular motion. Make sure you clean all your LCD screens when the need arises.

Find out what you need to do to clean this screen properly. Do not clean this screen like you would a window in your home. This can ruin the screen completely. Look at it before you touch it to your screen. Don’t use normal cleaning solutions and water.

Go get some laptop cleaning spray that is designed to not be harmful to your LCD screen. Wipe the screen off but not too firmly. Be soft when cleaning it off.
